A victory for Victor? The best bet for the Houston Open.

Here is a quick-tip betting preview from golf tipster, Dave Tindall, for this weeks Houston Open

The Houston Open was won by a German player last year when Stephan Jaeger edged out five players by a shot including World No.1 Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler returns to try his luck again, as does Rory McIlroy but it may pay to ignore the big two and have an each-way punt on a Frenchman: Victor Perez.

Perez went to college in New Mexico, which borders Texas, so is more familiar with this part of the United States than we may think.

And that’s shown up in some of his past Texas performances. As a rank outsider Perez made the semi-finals of the WGC Match Play in Austin four years ago while on his debut in this event last year he was 17th.

Perez returns on the back of a pair of top 25s on his latest two starts - 18th at the Cognizant Classic and 22nd at last week’s Valspar Championship - so looks an interesting each-way bet at 100/1 with Paddy Power and Betfair, who both pay eight places.

Enjoy the golf, good luck with your best and please gamble responsibly
