James Buttler casts his eyes over Friday evening's Championship match as both Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday need to revive their seasons.
Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland

It’s beginning to look like Sunderland will have to settle for a place on the end of season playoffs after they’ve fallen off the automatic promotion chasing pace. Losing their last two matches, to Leeds United and Hull City, has not helped and the task now is probably to maintain momentum into that playoff lottery.

If they can keep their collective heads in the game, the Black Cats should have too much for their hosts Wednesday on Friday. They could become disappointed and go off the boil, or they could seek a run through to the end of the season that could still see them close to the top two.
The Owls find themselves down in 13th, but only six points off the playoffs themselves. But three defeats in their last four league matches have lessened their promotion chances. Wednesday’s defeat to Coventry City in the last match they played at Hillsborough was their first loss at home in six matches, taking two wins and three draws in the previous five. One thing that has been common for the Owls in their own nest has been Both Teams To Score. BTTS has landed in the last five in Sheffield and Over 2.5 match goals in four of those five. Sunderland are certainly more than capable of scoring on Friday.
For the quick bet, I’d prefer to look away from the match outrights and play goals and take BTTS and Over 2.5 match goals at 7/5 with Bet365. The draw at 12/5 with Coral may also be worth a look as it’s been a common result in recent Hillsborough matches.
