BRENTFORD v ARSENAL BETTING PREVIEWJames Buttler

Brentford were flying in the Premier League this season, but the wheels have started to wobble if not completely come off. It’s just one win in the last five league matches for Thomas Frank’s side, and they lost their unbeaten at home record with a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in their last game at the Gtech Community Stadium. The recent poor run has seen them slip to 12th and New Year’s Day brings tough opponents in third-placed Arsenal.

James Buttler looks ahead to New Year's Day Premier League action and picks out the best bets.

The Gunners are unbeaten in eight league matches, winning five, including two of their last four away from home. Both Teams To Score has happened in those last four away trips and with Brentford’s home matches yielding 42 goals in nine matches and BTTS has landed in all but that last Forest defeat.

James' Premier League Bets

There are plenty of goal scorer options with Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa scoring eight goals apiece in home matches this season. Mbeumo is 18/5 and Wissa 4/1 anytime.

Arsenal won’t find this one easy, so I’m taking the result out of the equation and playing over 3.5 match goals and BTTS and then adding in Wissa to score anytime to make the treble 7/1 with Bet365. Over 3.5, BTTS and Mbeumo anytime is 7/1 with Unibet. I’m playing both at half stakes.

Happy New Year and please gamble responsibly.
