Can Colchester add to Walsall's woes?

Here are 3 quick-tips in this weeks League 2 betting preview.

Colchester v Walsall

Colchester are at home to run-away league leaders Walsall on Saturday, and this is an intriguing game with some intriguing odds.

Over the course of the season, not one team have been better than Walsall, which is why they are top and 7 points clear, at the time of recording, of Doncaster in 2nd. A couple of weeks ago, Walsall were 12 points clear.

Over the last 3 games, Walsall have taken 1 point from 9, Colchester have taken 7 points from 9.

Colchester have only lost 1 of their last 7 home games while Walsall have lost their last 2 away and have put in some poor performances. Colchester are 2/1 at Bet365 to win and that is our selection.

Swindon v Port Vale

Swindon have hit a rich vein of form recently, Ian Holloway have taken his team away from the relegation zone and to mid-table security. Swindon have won their last 4 games straight and have scored 12 goals in those 4 games.

They play host to a Port Vale side who have also found a bit of form after a sticky patch, but away from home, Vale have won just 2 of their last 8 games.

If you have a team in form, scoring plenty, and clearly full of confidence, then you back them. Swindon are 7/5 Coral to win, and that is our pick.

Grimsby v Carlisle

Sometimes you back a team to win because they are scoring plenty and winning plenty, and sometimes you back a team to win because their opponents are having a very poor season and are there for the taking.

This is the case with Grimsby at home to Carlisle, who are now manager-less. Mike Williamson signed 12 players in the January transfer window, then lost last week 5-1 at home to Swindon and was sacked.

So, Carlisle are in need of a new manager who will literally take charge of a new team.

Grimsby are not brilliant at home, but they 9th in the league, Carlisle are bottom, and Grimsby are 11/10 at William Hill to win. And that is our pick.

Good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly.
