Can Exeter cut down Forest? FA Cup Betting Preview

Here is a quick-tip FA Cup betting preview for the one game on Tuesday night.

League 1 Exeter host Premier League Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, the first competitive meeting between these 2 sides since 1951.

These clubs have only met competitively 4 times, and Forest have won 2 of those 4 games 5-0. Could history repeat itself on Tuesday?

Exeter are 12/1 to win, understandably so, with Forest very short at 1/4. The concern of course is the number of changes the sides will make to their starting 11, as we saw with Liverpool being knocked out at Plymouth, but we're not backing an upset in this one.

But at 1/4 for the visitors to win, we need to dig around for value.

The obvious way in is goals. Exeter have lost their last 3 games in League 1, losing 3-1, 6-2, and 4-1. 13 goals conceded in 3 games. Forest won their last game 7-0.

It is remarkable to find that Forest have been dreadful away from home in the FA Cup. Bar an extra time win away at Blackpool last season, it was a draw after 90 mins, Forest have not won 9 away games in this cup competition, a run stretching back to 2014.

The challenge is to find a price for Forest that is odds against. There are two. Forest to win and to keep a clean sheet is 6/5 but we're going for Forest to win both halves at 7/4
