James Buttler looks ahead to the fourth weekend of Championship action and picks out the best bets, including a treble and a goal scorer selection.
Leeds United v Hull City
Let's start at Elland Road with a Leeds United side that have been a little slower out of the blocks at the start of the campaign than they'd like. They do however remain unbeaten and the 2-0 away win in the last match against Sheffield Wednesday boosted them to sixth in the Championship table. They're a team that will enjoy the transfer window firmly shutting so the uncertainty can be put behind them and they can just get on with the football.
They take on a Hull City side that sit in 14th and are yet to claim a win this season. Elland Road was a fortress for the Whites last season and Leeds to win at 1/3 should land comfortably. But to eke out a little bit more value, let's play Leeds and over 2.5 goals in the match at 17/20.
My goal scorer bet also comes in the Leeds game. The Welsh wing wizard Dan James has looked sharp and eager in early season, scoring in the win against Sheffield Wednesday. He's 13/8 to add to his tally.
Portsmouth v Sunderland
Portsmouth have opened the season with three draws against three sides tipped to be in the promotion mix in Leeds United, Luton Town and Middlesbrough. They've scored five goals in the process but take on another fancied side in Sunderland who are 100% after three matches. Sunderland have racked up seven goals scored to none conceded against Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley, the latter being the most impressive result. I think Sunderland win on Saturday but I'm taking Portsmouth to score too. Sunderland and both teams to score is 3/1.
West Brom v Swansea
West Bromwich Albion drew 0-0 with Leeds United in their only previous home game, but they beat QPR 3-1 and Stoke City 2-1 away from home to sit in fourth place. Josh Maja has four goals in three matches and will fancy his chances against Swansea. The Swans are in eighth but lost their only away game against Boro and West Brom should be too strong.
I think West Brom win but I'm taking a risk to boost the price by playing Josh Maja to score two or more in this match at 17/2. Let's play him while he's hot and try and make the most of it.
James' Best Championship Bets
You can obviously adapt any of those selections if you want to be a little bit more cautious.
I've been a bit brave this weekend and 69.3/1 is the treble. And don't forget Dan James at 13/8 anytime to score for Leeds United.
Leeds and over 2.5 match goals at 17/20
Sunderland and BTTS is 3/1
Josh Maja to score 2 or more goals for WBA is 17/2.
However you bet, please gamble responsibly and I'll see you again next time.
