QPR v Norwich

This is the match that interests me most on Saturday with two teams in QPR and Norwich on unbeaten runs of three Championship matches, but neither would consider themselves to be having the seasons they wanted.

Queens Park Rangers are 23rd after picking up a point from a goalless draw against Watford at Vicarage Road last weekend. Norwich City sit in ninth and beat Luton Town 4-2 at Carrow Road last time out. The corresponding match ended 2-2 last season, but it’s the Canaries that have dominated this fixture. QPR haven’t won any of the last eight league H2Hs, dating back to April 2018.

James Buttler looks ahead to Saturday's Championship action and picks out the best bets with a treble.

The Canaries have scored 12 goals and let in five across their last three league matches as they’ve bagged seven points from nine, whereas QPR have scored just three goals and conceded one as they’ve accumulated five points in the same period.

Norwich are three draws and two defeats in five away matches, whereas QPR’s home record is dire with no win in their nine home league games this season with just five points earned. This match offers up a chance for one of these teams to break their winless runs in the home and away capacities, and it’s Norwich that look the most likely.

Borja Sainz has scored 15 goals and is top of the Championship goal scorer charts this season, so let’s take him to add to his tally in a Norwich win at 4/1 with Bet365. Sainz to grab the opening goal of the match, as he has done five times this season, is 6/1, also with Bet365.

Leeds Utd vs Derby County

In a bid to build a decent treble, let’s add in a Leeds side that have won their last six home league matches, with all of them over 1.5 match goals and four over 2.5. They play a Derby team that have claimed just one win in nine away matches this season. Leeds and over 2.5 match goals is 6/5 with Bet365.

Hull City vs Blackburn Rovers

Hull are winless in 10 league matches and they host a Blackburn side that have won their last three in the Championship against Cardiff, Middlesbrough and Leeds. Blackburn at 19/11 seem like a decent play on Saturday afternoon.

James’ Championship Tips

  • Norwich to win and Borja Sainz to score anytime at 4/1

  • Leeds to win and over 2.5 match goals at 6/5

  • Blackburn to beat Hull City at 19/11

If you put all three picks into a treble it comes to approximately 30/1.
