Sunderland v Plymouth
Sunderland are fourth and still very much in the hunt for automatic promotion. Plymouth may have sacked Wayne Rooney but they remain rock bottom of the Championship table.
Sunderland are unbeaten in four league starts, including three wins in that period, and they sit five points behind top team Leeds United and four points off second. The Black Cats haven’t been scoring big in recent weeks, so be careful about wading in too hard on goals in this one off the back of Plymouth’s 5-0 battering at home to Burnley in midweek.
Under 2.5 match goals had landed in Plymouth’s four previous matches and in each of Sunderland’s four matches in their unbeaten run. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t fancy Argyle’s chances here, but Sunderland to win and Under 2.5 match goals at 14/5 with Bet365 has a decent chance.
QPR v Sheffield Wednesday
You look at the Championship table and see QPR 10th and The Owls in 11th, both locked on 38 points and could be forgiven for thinking there’s nothing between these two sides. BUT look at the form tables and QPR and flying while the Owls are not.
QPR are unbeaten in five league games, winning there last four. They have only lost once in their last 13 matches and won their last five at home. They are on a steep upward curve. Wednesday have won once in their last six Championship outings and taken just one point from the last nine available on the road.
So, these two sides may appear equal from a cursory glance at the table, but the 31/20 with Bet MGM on QPR to win again on Saturday is the standout price in the Championship this weekend.
