James Buttler looks ahead to Sunday afternoon's Championship action and picks out the best bets with a double.
Watford v West Brom
This 2 o’clock match appears to have the draw written all over it. Or does it? Hosts Watford are unbeaten in five, with three draws and two wins. West Brom arrive on an unbeaten streak of 12 league games, with 10 draws in that period. So, if there is to be a loser on Sunday it will buck the trend.
Watford sit in eighth and drew 1-1 last time out at Hull City. But the two wins they’ve picked up in their last five have come at home where they’ve won seven and drawn two of their nine matches this Championship season. That’s an incredible record and one that West Brom will fear.
The Baggies travel to fortress Vicarage Road after a 2-0 home win against Coventry, which put them sixth in the table. They have only lost once this season on their travels and, while I wouldn’t put you off the draw at 47/20, I rate Watford’s home chances. The Hornets are unbeaten against West Brom in their last seven league meetings, winning three.
I’m playing a Watford win with their 10-goal striker Josh Maja bagging anytime at a very tempting 18/1 with Bet365.
Norwich v Burnley
The other Sunday match in the division kicks off at 3pm and is easier to call, if any in this division are. Third-placed Burnley, unbeaten in seven, travel to a 10th placed Norwich side that have scored 10 goals in their last two home wins but have been largely inconsistent.
I’m taking the outrights out of the equation in this match and playing goals. BTTS is 17/20, but there’s more mileage in Over 3.5 match goals at 3/1.
James' Championship Double
A small-stakes tickle on the Sunday double would give you 75/1, but please gamble responsibly.
