Good news, the 6.22/1 treble landed last week. The goal scorer tip didn't play, so that was void. So, success last weekend, let's try and build on it.

Sunderland v Burnley

We'll start off with Sunderland against Burnley, two of the three 100% teams, they meet at the Stadium of Light. This match screams goals.

James Buttler looks ahead to the third weekend of Championship action and picks out the best bets, including a treble and a goal scorer selection.

Sunderland have won 2-0 away at Cardiff City and 4-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Whereas Burnley have claimed a 4-1 away win at Luton and a 5-0 home win over Cardiff City. That said, sometimes good sides cancel each other out and both defences have been working well too. The last time they met, at Turf Moor in 2023, it was a 0-0. But there have been goals in this one. There were 10 goals across the previous two meetings.

Burnley have conceded in their last 12 away matches, albeit with 11 of those played in their Premier League relegation season. And Both Teams To Score to happen at 7/10 looks a pretty safe play.

Preston v Luton Town

Preston have seven losses in a row and they haven't scored once in that period in the Championship. That's continued into this season with a home defeat to Sheffield United and a 3-0 away loss to Swansea City.

They take on a Luton side that haven't made the expected good start to their Championship campaign, with a 4-1 home defeat to Burnley and a 0-0 draw at Portsmouth. But the Hatter's ceiling is far higher than their hosts and 12/5 on an away win and over 2.5 goals is my play in this one.

This is also the match where my goal scorer pick plays. Elijah Adebayo is 7/5 any time to score. And he should find this level comfortable after impressing last season in the Premier League.

Norwich City v Sheffield Utd

I'm taking the outright markets out of the equation, although Sheffield United at 6/4 does have some appeal.

Norwich have scored six goals in their two home games, including the League Cup. 11 goals altogether in those matches. Sheffield United have eight goals in their three matches home and away, including the Cup. And there have been 12 goals in total. Both teams are scoring and conceding so far this season. And Both Teams To Score at 4/6 looks like a really good pick.

If you, like me, favour the Blades. Sheffield United to win and BTTS is 7/2. (2:31)

James' Championship Treble

So if you put all that together...

  • Sheffield United to win and both teams to score at 7/2

  • Sunderland against Burnley to be BTTS

  • Luton win and over 2.5 match goals

That's a 25/1 treble.

If you change the Sheffield United pick to just BTTS it takes the treble down to 8.63/1.

I'm going to play both and don't forget Adebayo to score anytime.

Good luck with your bets, everybody. Gamble responsibly and I'll see you again ahead of the next round of fixtures.
