England took the second Test at Trent Bridge, as we thought, and the 3-0 series win is still very much on the cards. West Indies did play a lot better, it has to be said, and pushed England all the way through until the fourth day, but England are just the better of the two sides.

Duckett and the Nappy Factor

England v West Indies 2nd Test - Could the nappy factor take Ben Duckett to a daddy ton?

Congratulations to England opener Ben Duckett and his partner, Paige, on the birth of their daughter, Margot. The nappy factor is a big thing in betting sometimes, after having a child.

A father suddenly thinks there's far more important things in life than what they do for a living, hitting a little bit of a ball around with a stick, and all of a sudden it frees them up to play even better.

Ben Duckett is playing rather well anyway. He got a couple of 70s at his home ground and I can see him doing really well at Edgbaston and I'm fancying taking him to be the leading England run scorer.

We've played Joe Root in the first two tests and he came so close. Play Joe Root because he is the best player in England's line-up and he'll probably come good at some stage, but it has to be said, Ben Duckett might be just worth a little bit of a sniff with his new daughter, very much in his thoughts.

Cricket and rest and rotation

Just be a little bit careful on your bowler bets if you're taking any England specials or outright markets, because at the time of recording they haven't picked the team yet. There's every chance that either Dylan Pennington or Matthew Potts (or both) might come in.

There is a special if Atkinson does play - England to win and Gus Atkinson to be the clear top England bowler in the first innings was 2/1, that's extended to 5/2 with William Hill.

I also like the other special they've got here, Joe Root and Harry Brook both to score a 50 in the first innings, was 9/2, now 11/2.

And if you fancy Joe Root to be the top England run scorer in the first innings, he's extended to 4/1 from 100/30, but remember the Ben Duckett pick, which is 9/2.

Just one other bet that I do like the look of, there's a few markets on the William Hill site to score 50 or to score 100, you can take your pick, and there's plenty of batters and markets there.

Mikyle Louis, the West Indian opener, has impressed me during this series. He looks well organised, got a good defence, he's not frightened of taking on England's fast bowlers like Mark Ward, and I think at some stage he will click in this series. He's got starts but not gone on. Mikhail Lui to score a 50 at Edgbaston is 4/1 and I think that's a decent enough price on a player that looks like he knows what he is doing with the bat.

Anyway, enjoy the cricket and please gamble responsibly.
