CHELSEA v SOUTHAMPTON BETTING PREVIEWJames Buttler

Can Southampton avoid relegation – no. Can the Saints add to their solitary away win over fell relegation fodder side Ipswich Town with victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – no. Are Chelsea, who are one win in four league matches in quite such bad form as that stat would suggest – no.

Chelsea have had to endure a run of troublesome away fixtures, and they’ve not dealt with them well. They lost at Man City, Brighton and Aston Villa and interspersed those defeats with a home win over West Ham. And it’s that form at Stamford Bridge that will be Southampton’s undoing.

Chelsea have suffered just one loss in their last 11 home matches and, if they don’t claim a win in this fixture, it will be an almighty shock.

Chelsea at 1/3 are rightly skinny to take all three points, but let’s add to that with some goals. Southampton have conceded at least once in all but one away match this season and taking Chelsea and match goals, because it’s worth having Southampton goals on your side too, is my way in.

Chelsea to win, the ever-dependable 14 goals this season Cole Palmer to score anytime and over 3.5 match goals is 8/5 with Bet365. Take the goals element to over 4.5 and it lifts the price to 3/1 with Bet365, but obviously you need a wee bit more.
