I think it is fair to that Crewe, who lost in the League 2 play-off final last season, have had better starts to a season. Played 3, lost 2, drawn 1, zero goals scored, 2nd bottom. So with a lack of goals, and points, a trip to a bouncing Bromley, who have settled in to life in the football league well, could prove to be a difficult challenge.

I’m backing Bromley to win this one. They are EVS in plenty of places to win, but 23/20 at Betfair, and that is the pick. Bromley have scored 5 goals this season, which is exactly 5 more than Crewe, as we know, and have scored in all games. Veteran striker, Michael Cheek, has scored 2 goals in 3 games for Bromley, so he is one to look at to find the back of the net but it’s a simple shout to start with. Bromley to win.

Backing the Bantams

Next tip is a team that Bromley played last, and lost to, Bradford, and they are away at Grimsby and I’m tipping the Bantams to win this one, with goals in the game. Few teams can lay claim to winning more away games than home games in a season, but Bradford did just that last season.

Grimsby’s home form is not that bad, but generally when they win at home, they keep a clean sheet, 3-2 victory at home to Cheltenham last time aside. Grimsby’s last few defeats at home have been 3-1 and 5-1. In the last 5 games between these 2 sides, both teams to score have landed in all 5, so as I have mentioned, goals, is the way forward in this one. Bradford are best priced at 7/5 at Hills to win, no issue with that, but I’m picking Bradford to win and over 2.5 goals at a tasty 14/5 at BetMGM

Mad for Walsall

And the last selection for the treble is Walsall, at home to Cheltenham. We’re going to ignore the fact that Cheltenham have won their last 6 games against Walsall, and that Walsall have not beaten the Robins since 2008, Oasis were still performing together then, we’re looking at these 2 teams, right here, right now, d’ya know what I mean?

Since an opening day victory for Cheltenham, they have lost every game while Walsall currently sit 3rd with 6 points from 9. The home side are a bit skinny on the outrights, odds on everywhere so we need to dig deeper for value. I fancy Walsall to win by a goal, 11/4 at Bet365. In 8 of the last 10 games for Cheltenham, the winning margin for the winners has been by a goal, and 4 of the last 5 games at home for Walsall, the winning margin has been a goal.

My selections are Bromley to win, 23/20, Bradford to win and over 2.5 goals at 14/5 and Walsall to beat Cheltenham by a goal 11/4. As a treble, this is around 29/1.
