Gavin Puszczalowskyi is looking at this weekends games in League 2 and picking his best 3 bets.
I'm not going to lie, League 2 has become extremely difficult to predict recently and the facts speak for themselves. Only 1 of the current top 6 won last weekend while 2 of the bottom 3 claimed maximum points, including another shock home defeat for Gillingham at the hands of Accrington Stanley.
Crewe v Salford
But, let's go again. My first pick is Crewe to win at home to Salford. After losing at home to Chesterfield 5-0 earlier this season, Crewe have been seriously tight at the back and have not conceded a goal in their following 4 home games in the league. They have won their last 3 games straight at home and if you include the EFL Trophy games, Crewe have won their last 5 home games. Therefore it surprised me a little that you can get Crewe, 13/10 in numerous places, to win at home to a Salford City side who I'm still not sure what their ambition is.
Salford have only won 7 of their last 26 league games, and while they have drawn a number of games recently on their travels, I just think Crewe will be too strong, and too tight at the back, for Salford to claim all 3 points. These teams have produced some cracking games in the past. Salford won 3-2 at Crewe, and 4-2 at home last season. The season before Crewe won 4-3 at home to Salford so you could clearly go for goals in this but I'm keeping it simple. Crewe to win, 13/10
Bromley v Tranmere
Bromley have not won many games at home recently but look at who they have played. Notts County, Chesterfield, MK Dons, and Crewe, all tough teams who are in and around the top of the table. This weekend they are at home to a misfiring Tranmere side, with Nigel Adkins under pressure to deliver, and I'm backing them to pile on the misery.
Michael Cheek is in fine form for Bromley with 6 goals in 10 games this season, which is even better when you consider that Bromley have not won in 8 and are currently 20th in the table. So, why am I backing them? Because Tranmere are 19th in the league and with the home advantage, and Cheek in fine goalscoring form, I'm backing the home side to win this at 11/8 at Betfair
Notts County v AFC Wimbledon
My third, and final pick, is also a team who have seemingly lost that ability to get all 3 points with just 1 win in their last 5 league games. They have, in fact, taken 5 points from their last 15 available, and they are still 3rd in the league just 2 points off the top. I'm backing Notts County to return to winning ways at home to AFC Wimbledon.
Wimbledon do not travel well and they are lacking goals on the road this season with just 1 goal from their 4 away games this season. The Dons are currently 10th but that is mostly based on their rock solid-winning-all-games home form. I'm backing the team currently in the top 3 to win this one, which is something that has not happened all too often recently, but Notts County, 29/20 at Hills is my pick.
My 3 selections for this weekends action in League 2. Crewe to win at home to Salford at 13/10. Bromley at 11/8 to beat Tranmere and Notts County to beat AFC Wimbledon at 29/20.
A treble around 13/1. Good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly
