There are a few things in live I struggle to understand and explain. Quantum Physics is one, Harold Bishops sudden return to Neighbours is another, and Gillingham's complete and utter loss of form is another. 2 months ago they were winning games, top of the table, and were backable to win games.

Then, September turned into October and Gillingham have lost the ability to win. They have lost 5 of their last 6 league games and taken just 1 point from their last 18 available. Goodbye top spot in the league and say hello to 11th, 10 points behind the league leaders, Port Vale, who they face on Saturday.

Vale, unbeaten in 10 games, have won 7 of those 10 games including every one of their last 5 League 2 games. They are the polar opposite to Gillingham, and are 7/5, at William Hill, to win at Gillingham. That's pick number 1 sorted.

The Robins

Cheltenham are currently 16th in the league table but 10th in the current form guide over the last 6 games. If you take into account the EFL Trophy, and the FA Cup last weekend, Cheltenham have won 5 of their last 6 games and they are at home to a Bromley side who have scored 2 goals in their last 4 away games in League 2.

I'm slightly scared the draw is a play in this one, it is 16th at home to 18th, but with the confidence Cheltenham have going into this game, I'm backing them at 8/5 at Coral to win.

Salford City

And I am venturing into dangerous waters with my 3rd pick. I'm going for Salford to win at home. Their home form last season was dreadful, they won as many home games in the league as the 2 teams that were relegated to the National League, but Salford have started scoring goals, winning games, and giving me confidence they can turn over, at home, a seriously poor Carlisle who come into this one having conceded 7 goals in their last 2 away games.

Salford's last 4 games in all competitions have had over 2.5 goals and Carlisle conceded 4 at Wimbledon and 3 at Walsall. Go for goals to boost the price on the home side but I'm backing Salford, 11/10 at Quinnbet, in the 12.30 kick-off on Saturday, to beat Carlisle.

My picks. Port Vale, 7/5 to win at Gillingham. Cheltenham at 8/5 to win at home to Bromley, and Salford at 11/10 to win at home to Carlisle. A treble of 13/1

Good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly.
