Gavin Puszczalowskyi looks ahead to this weekends action in League 2 and picks his 3 best bets.
If you would like a shining example to demonstrate the unpredictable nature of League 2, then look at last weekend. None of the current top 5 in the league won, but the current 2 teams at the bottom did. One week you can tip a team to lose, and the next you can tip them to win. And a case in point is who I'm backing to win to start this weeks treble.
Accrington Stanley v Swindon Town
Accrington Stanley. I do not think I have tipped a side to lose more so far this season than Accrington, and here I am now tipping them to win. Football hey?
Even though they started the season slowly, and poorly, Stanley's home form has always been solid. 1 home defeat all season in the league, and just 4 home defeats in the last 15 League 2 games at home. And they are at home to a Swindon side who have taken just 1 point from the last 12 available.
Across all competitions, Accrington have won 6 of their last 9 games while Swindon have only won 3 of their last 30 away games in League 2. The draw is a play but I'm going for Accrington to win this at 11/8 at William Hill.
MK Dons v Cheltenham Town
Another side who started the season poorly, so poorly in fact they sacked their manager, is MK Dons. Scott Lindsey joined as boss from Crawley, instantly made Dons more difficult to beat, more draws than defeats, and now is turning draws into wins. MK Dons have won their last 4 games straight in the league, 3 of those wins have been 3-1 and they face a Cheltenham side in good form too. In all competitions, Cheltenham have won 5 in their last 7 and are unbeaten in the other 2 games. The Robins are tempting to win at 4/1 but I'm going to MK Dons, and goals, to continue their good form. MK Dons to win and over 2.5 goals is my pick, 17/10 at Bet365.
Harrogate Town v Chesterfield
And my final pick, to complete the treble, is Chesterfield to win at Harrogate. The Spireites have drawn 6 of 8 games at home but have won 4 of 7 on their travels, and they have scored 8 more goals in away games than home games. Chesterfield are much better away from home, and Harrogate's home form is poor, with 5 defeats in 8 home games. Chesterfield are odds on to win, so, like MK Dons, I'm going for goals to boost the price. Chesterfield to win and over 2.5 goals is 17/10 at Bet365.
My tips for this weekend. Accrington to win at 11/8 at William Hill. And both MK Dons and Chesterfield to win their respective games and over 2.5 goals in both games, both priced at 17/10 at Bet365.
Good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly
