After landing a 36/1 acca last week, I don’t to bang on too much about it, we go again for matchday 2 in League 2.

Doncaster to keep marching on

I’m starting with Doncaster Rovers. I had them last week, I’m having them again this week. They tore Accrington apart last week, eventually, with a 4-1 victory, in which midfielder Lee Molyneux scored twice, one which is already a contender for goal of the season, to cap off a sensational performance. Doncaster also won 2-0 mid-week in the League Cup at Salford, I said last week their home form was dreadful, with Billy Sharp scoring, he also found the net against Stanley, and Lee Molyneux, again, getting on the score sheet.

Life is very good right now if you are a Doncaster Rovers fan, and they travel from South Yorkshire to South Wales with a spring in their step and with the confidence, and determination, to right a wrong. Rovers got mullered 4-0 at Newport County last season, and also lost 1-0 at home to County, so time to put that right. I fancy them to do so.

Newport’s home form was average last season. Won 9, lost 8, drew the rest. They have lost 6 of their last league 8 games at home, and each of their last 4. If you, like Doncaster, wish to get promoted from League 2, then Newport is a place where you pick up 3 points. Doncaster are odds on everywhere to win, so let’s go goals again. Doncaster to win and 2.5 goals in the game, 17/10 best price at BetMGM

Port Vale and goals

Port Vale, I had them last week, and I’m going in again. Tipped them to win at Salford, and they did, and now they are at home to Tranmere who had the joint highest number of defeats away from home last season. 23 games away from home, 15 defeats. Matched only by Newport County.

Vale are odds on to win, so again, goals to boost the price. Tranmere have scored in 7 of their last 9 away games, so Port Vale to win and both teams to score is the play at 3/1 at BetMGM, again.

AFC Wimbldon to Bromley, and back

My third pick is a team that, to date, I have not mentioned at all in the League 2 preview show nor the preview for matchday 1, but the more I see, the more I like, and I think they could be a dark horse for the play-offs. AFC Wimbledon. Johnnie Jackson is building a good squad, athletic, pace, and a steely determination. They were 2-0 at home after 9 mins on the opening game against Colchester, and came back to win not just the game, but the first half. That’s going to build some serious confidence, and they followed that up with an away win in the Cup at Bromley. Again, coming from behind to do so. And this week they travel to Bromley. Again. They are only 11 miles between these 2 teams to not the biggest journey to repeat twice in 5 days.

Bromley got off to a winning start at Harrogate, but I fancy the Dons in this one to spoil the party as Bromley celebrate league football at home for the first time in their history. Both teams to score and overs on the goals is always a play in League 2, but they are 19/10 seconds favs at QuinnBet to win at a place they won on Tuesday night.

So, my selections are Doncaster Rovers to win and over 2.5 goals at 17/10, Port Vale to win and both teams to score at 3/1 and AFC Wimbledon to win at 19/10. This is an acca of around 31/1
