Race Winner

Max Verstappen pulled out an amazing qualifying lap last week in Japan to lead the grid away when the lights went out and ultimately he drove a flawless race and won a rather uneventful Grand Prix.

The question is was that a one off or a return to winning form for Max and his Red Bull?

PREVIEW: Bahrain GP Race Winner

Right now, we're backing it was a one off. And here is why.

Red Bull admit they still haven't got the car where they want it to be. Max has been extremely vocal about the improvement needed to get the Red Bull winning races on a regular basis. And the race last weekend, for all it's history and glory, the track at Suzuka does not provide must overtaking opportunities.

The DRS on the main straight is not that effective due to the fact it's not that long, and the traction off the final chicane onto the start finish straight from all cars means no driver is carrying excess speed to get a tow and get close enough to pull off an overtake, plus there is only 1 DRS zone in Japan.

Bahrain is different. There are 3 DRS zones, and it's a track that can lend itself to much closer racing. McLaren is still the best car. If they start 2nd or 3rd off the grid, with the help of DRS, we don't think they can be kept at bay as they were in Japan.

We're tipping Norris to win the race at 5/4 or the bigger price of his team mate, Piastri, at 9/4.

Top 10 Finish

Our favourite market to play for F1, one that can bring that biggest prices, is to finish in the Top 10. We landed a 10/1 last week with Ollie Bearman in the Haas finishing in the points and we're going in again on the same driver.

PREVIEW: Bahrain GP Points Finish

Bearman has been exceptionally impressive this season, non-more so than in Japan last week. He made it to qualifying 3, where the fastest 10 drivers battle it out for pole, and was half a second quicker than his much more experienced teammate, Esteban Ocon, who was knocked out of qualifying in the first phase.

In the race, Bearman finished 10th, Ocon, 18th. An amazing drive and shows how the Haas is competitive in the middle of the pack. So let's go again. Bearman to finish in the points is 5/1 at bet365 and we're playing it.

NOTE: All bets were correct at the time of recording and are before qualifying has taken place.

Enjoy the racing, good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly.
