National League Betting Preview – Saturday 20th January 2024
After a break for the FA Trophy the National League is back and there were some key games in midweek but there are some bigger games this weekend.
The first is the big one where Barnet take on Chesterfield – For Barnet they simply have to win this game if they are to claw back any kind of ground on Paul Cook’s runaway leaders. The Spirerites are having one hell of a campaign and look destined to finally return to the Football League after years of waiting.
Chesterfield in the corresponding fixture gained an emphatic win and really with the quality that they have, they put a real marker down with that win and the performance that went with it as well. While Barnett will be giving their all to try and gain the three points, it's going to be a really interesting game is this one, I do think Chesterfield, if they left with a point, would be rather pleased with it considering how the season has gone so far for them. They don't need to win this game but with the amount of attacking talent that is there, I'm going to say over 2.5 goals in this match and you know what I've got to say, I think Chesterfield will be gaining the win in this game.
Selection – Chesterfield to win and over 2.5 goals in the game
It's been an interesting couple of weeks for the new Woking boss, Michael Doyle, and they take on Oxford City this weekend. Now, when the season began, I think ambitions were polar opposite Oxford City were probably more than happy to just stay in the National League this campaign after Selectiongaining promotion, last time round and for Woking after narrowly missing out on promotion last season in the play offs - They'd have been looking, thinking that this time round they could maybe even try and go one better or simply it hasn't been a good season for the Cards so far
And Doyle coming in has been a testament to that where they made the managerial change Woking will have to be keeping an eye below them as well they know that there are teams below are going on decent runs of form, so they know that they need to be picking up some good points and quickly as well to move further away from any relegation trouble.
I think they will get the win here just!
Selection – Woking win
Speaking of managerial changes, both York City and AFC Fylde have made those changes so far this campaign. Now last time round it was York who were able to gain the win. They've got home advantage here as well and I do think they will be gaining another three points.
It would be another crucial 3 points for the Minstermen as well with the amount of attacking talent that you all can have, I think they'll be getting more than 2.5 goals for themselves during this game AFC Fylde have had a rather frustrating season and for those involved with the Coasters so far and it doesn’t get any better this weekend.
Selection – York City to win and over 2.5 goals
