Rawalpindi likely to turn

I was happy to land the bet on Pakistan to win the second test, but before the series started, I predicted a 1-1 series result at 4/1, and we are now 1-1 with one Test to play as the players prepare to play that final test match in Rawalpindi.

James Buttler of the Cricket Badger Podcast looks ahead to the third Pakistan v England Test match and finds the best bets in Rawalpindi from Thursday.

In 15 previous test matches played at the ground, only four have been drawn, and they've had the big fans out to dry out that pitch. Pakistan buoyed by the fact their spinners did so well on the used pitch at Multan in the second Test, so expect this one to turn as the match progresses. It'll probably start off being fairly decent with the bat, and it'll gradually break up and bring the spinners into play.

So, if you played the 1-1 at the start of the series, now's the chance to back one of the two teams and give yourself a little bit of cover, because I do expect there to be a result in Rawalpindi.

England changes

Because of the way the pitch is likely to play, England have made some changes to their XI. Zak Crawley, Ben Duckey, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes and Jamie *Smith, they're the top seven, but the bowling attack has changed. Gus Atkinson comes back in, and there are three spinners in England's line-up.

Rehan Ahmed is added to the team, the leg spinner from Leicestershire, and he joins Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir to bowl the twirly overs, as the pitch is, as I say, expected to take spin as the five days progress.

Wait for the toss

The toss could be crucial. So rather than back either Pakistan at 6/4, or England at EVS to win the third Test match, wait until the toss has been done. Whoever wins it will bat first, back them then, to win the third test match. Batting first, try and put some runs on the board, and then the team batting last will find it the most difficult to score runs on the pitch as it deteriorates.

Jack Leach has had a great series

I think it's a little bit harsh on Rehan Ahmed to come in just for one Test match. He wasn't at his best for Leicestershire towards the end of the summer. He's 15/2 to be the top England bowler. I would discount that.

I think he's going to bowl fewer overs than both Shoaib Bashir and Jack Leach, who are both 24/5, and Leach has been England's best bowler in this series. So that's tip no.2 - Jack Leach to be the top England bowler in the third Test at 24/5.

Joe will want to take Root

As always, I'm going to pick Joe Root to be the top England batter. He's the best against spin, 18/5 for Rooty to score the most England runs.

Pakistan's spinners enjoyed Multan

It was Sajid Khan and Noman Ali who starred for Pakistan in the second Test. They're both 11/4 to be the top Pakistan bowler. You could back both, half-stakes play, and you've got effectively a couple of 5/2s running for you.

Finish with a couple of Specials

And there are a couple of very nice little Specials I'm going to leave you with.

Joe Root to reach 100+ runs in the first innings, so a Root century is 3/1 with Paddy Power.

And, a 14-1 to finish with, again with Paddy Power. Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, and Kamran Ghulam, who was fantastic in the second Test on debut, to reach 50+ runs in the first innings is 14/1.

However you bet, enjoy the cricket. It starts 6am UK time, so get yourself up early. Series is set beautifully for the decider. May the best team win.

Gamble responsibly, and good luck with all of your bets.
