Shrewsbury v Exeter Betting PreviewDavid Easson

Shrewsbury came into the season as one of the favourites for the drop and let’s face it, they’re doing their best to live up to that label. Just two wins from their first 11 league games, with just eight points to show for their efforts and that equals a very dismal 21st in League One.

Contrast that with Exeter, who were also tipped to struggle but they’ve hit the ground running and the Grecians are flying high in seventh. 4 clean sheets in a row, 3 wins and a draw. They’ve even had a week off due to the internationals while the Shrews were playing – and they got themselves a win over Crawley. You’d expect nothing less but a win is a win. It was a 5-3 away win at that. Ten yellows in that game as well.

Referee David Rock averages a huge 5.75 cards per game and both sides are averaging nearly 7 cards per match. He’s given the second most fouls in League One this season.

I think this could turn into a bit of a slog for both sides.

Yes, were seeing upturns for both the Shrews and the Grecians – Shrewsbury’s John Marquis is one to keep an eye on after 2 goals and an assist last week – but it’s rare for either side to go over 2.5 goals. 6 of Exeter’s 9 games have been under 2.5 goals and the last 3 games at the New Meadow have been unders.

Here’s the bet then:

I’m going for the Draw with under 2.5 goals.

Add in a shot on target for John Marquis and over 4.5 cards in the game.

That’s a 16/1 bet builder.
