Swindon to smash Chesterfield and Newport to conquer Cheltenham. A League 2 Betting Preview

Gavin Puszczalowskyi

Here is our quick-tip League 2 betting preview.

Swindon Town v Chesterfield

Swindon Town host a Chesterfield side whose away form leaves quite a lot to be desired. More on that shortly.

Swindon had a blip last week with a defeat at Harrogate, which scuppered our shout on Swindon to win. The most surprising aspect of that defeat was the fact that Swindon failed to score. After scoring 7 goals in 2 away games, they failed to find the back of the net at a side who had conceded in 7 of 9 home games. That is League 2 all over.

But Swindon are back at home where they have won 5 of their last 7 games, drawing the other 2, and scoring 17 goals in those 7 goals. Chesterfield have lost 4 of their last 5 away games, drawn the other and have scored 3 goals in their last 5 away.

Swindon win more, score more, and are 9/5 at 10bet to win. And that is our pick.

Newport County v Cheltenham Town

Newport County are at home to Cheltenham Town this Saturday and the prices on this game have us a little confused, and that is good, as we think there is a great price to be had.

Newport are in good form right now with 4 wins in their last 5, this off the back of a run of 5 consecutive defeats. Newport have gone from 0 points from 15 available to picking up 13 points from their last 15. They have have also won 3 of their last 4 at home.

Cheltenham are winless in 7 away games, they have lost 2 of their last 3 away and have failed to score in any of their last 4 away games and yet, the bookies have the away side as the favs.

We disagree. Newport are 2/1 bet365 to win and that is our selection.

Colchester v AFC Wimbledon

Mid-week we backed Colchester to draw at Notts County, and they did, and we backed AFC Wimbledon to draw at Fleetwood, and they did, a nice draw double.

Well, this Saturday, Colchester are at home to Wimbledon and we are sure you can guess which result we are tipping in this one.

Wimbledon have superb home form back up by picking up single points away from home. They have drawn all of their last 4 games on the road. Colchester have drawn a 3rd of their league games at home and have drawn each of their last 2 games.

The bookies have both these teams at 9/5 to win, so they are expecting a tight game, we agree, so tight there will be nothing to separate them after 90 mins.

The draw is 21/10 at Ladbrokes and that is our tip.

Enjoy the football, good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly.
