Cardiff and Hull find themselves going toe-to-toe with both sides just three points above the relegation zone. Whichever team gets the upper hand at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday evening will take a giant leap towards Championship safety this season.

James Buttler looks at the two Championship matches on Tuesday evening and finds a 4/1 double.

It’s Hull who arrive in Wales in the better form following a 1-0 win at Sunderland at the weekend and, in doing so, becoming the first away team to take three points at the Stadium of Light all season. They’re a bizarre side in many ways, adding a 3-0 away win at Sheffield United in their last five games.

Cardiff haven’t won any of their last four league matches, but picked up draws against Bristol City and Plymouth in their last two.

Both sides are short of goals with three bagged in their last four matches played, so I’m not going to get carried away with overs and goal scorer tips. The quick tip reverts back to recent form and of the two sides, it’s Hull who currently appear the most capable of raising their game. Hull City to win on Tuesday is a very decent looking 19/10 with Bet365.

Stoke City v Middlesbrough

STOKE v MIDDLESBROUGH BETTING PREVIEWJames Buttler

Middlesbrough are sinking like a stone down the Championship table after looking likely candidates for at least a playoff berth. They’ve lost last seven of their last eight league matches, only beating West Brom in that period, and that was six matches ago. Away from home it is four defeats on the bounce, but they have scored once in each of those defeats.

Stoke are still not out of relegation danger as they sit five points above the drop zone in 19th position, but their home form has been key to their survival hopes. Only table-topping Leeds United and third-placed Burnley have won at at the Bet365 Stadium in the last 13 league matches played there, the Potters winning four and drawing seven.

There is no way that Boro should be the odds-on favourites coming into this match and Stoke at 9/4 to claim the win is tempting. But Stoke have failed to score at home in five of their last eight home fixtures, so Both Teams To Score is not a good punt. Stoke not to lose on Tuesday evening is. The quick tip for this one is Stoke or the Draw at 7/10 on the Double Chance market with William Hill.

James’ Tuesday Championship Double

If we take Hull to win and Stoke not to lose the double comes to 3.84/1 with Bet365.
