WIMBLEDON MEN'S FINAL PREVIEWJames Buttler

For one final time we look at Wimbledon 2024 and and it's the men's singles final on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz of Spain takes on the Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the seven-time winner. Djokovic up against the young pretender, his nemesis, who beat him in the final last year.

On the H2Hs it's 3-3 between these two. It's very much a 50:50 call for me, although Alcaraz starts as the marginal favourite with the bookies.

A REPEAT OF LAST YEAR'S WIMBLEDON MEN'S FINAL CLASSIC

At Wimbledon last year Alcaraz won the final in five sets. He lost the first set 6-1, then came back 7-6, 6-1 to go 2-1 up, then Djokovic took the fourth 6-3, before Alcaraz took the decider 6-4. I think we will see something very similar this time around.

Djokovic has certainly got something to prove. He really wants this title and wants revenge. It's been a fantastic performance by Djokovic to come through less than a month after knee surgery. He wasn't sure if he was going to play at Wimbledon, but he's been absolutely magnificent. He always is.

I don't think Carlos Alcaraz has hit top gear just yet. He's come through with some pretty convincing scorelines, but I think there's a little bit left in the tank for Alcaraz. Maybe they can bring the best out of each other.

Looking at the outrights, Alcaraz is 7/10 and Djokovic 13/10, and as I did with the women's final, I'll play the value there, On a 50-50 pick, you go with the best price, so I'm playing Djokovic at 13/10 to win the title.

They will spur each other on, and for this to go to five sets, as it did last year, sees over 4.5 sets at 41/20, which I think is a pretty decent price.

I'll play overs on the games as well, I think we'll get some long sets in this one. Over 42.5 games in this match is 6/5.

Djokovic will come out, try to impose himself on Alcaraz straight away. Alcaraz lost the first set in the semi-final against Medvedev, which was a very good win. I think Djokovic can take the first set in this, probably has to if he's going to win the match. 11/10 for Djokovic to take the opening set.

IT SHOULD BE A CRACKING WIMBLEDON FINAL

I'm going to take Djokovic on the outrights to lift the trophy again, for the eighth time, which would take him past Roger Federer at the very top of the Wimbledon standings. Alcaraz will have loads of Grand Slams in the coming years, but maybe this time it's Djokovic's chance to lift another Wimbledon trophy.

Thank you very much indeed for listening to the previews as we've gone through this Wimbledon fortnight. Hopefully you've enjoyed them, and hopefully you've taken a few winning bets along the way.

Gamble responsibly, I'll see you next time.
