Young to claim the Cognizant and Van Tonder to triumph in South Africa. Golf Betting Preview

Here is a quick-tip betting preview for the upcoming tournaments on the PGA and DP World Tour. These tips are brought to you by golf tipster, Dave Tindall

COGNIZANT CLASSIC

The PGA Tour heads to Florida and the first tournament of a four-week stretch in the Sunshine State is the Cognizant Classic at PGA National.

Cognizant Classic Preview

It’s a course where lots of Open winners and contenders have thrived which makes sense given that it’s flat and exposed to the wind.

Cameron Young was runner-up in the 2022 Open at St Andrews and also eighth in 2023 at Hoylake when he was second with a round to go.

You’d expect him to have a good record at PGA National, therefore, and indeed he has: Young finished 16th on debut in 2022 and was fourth last year. He even won a high-class junior event there back in his teens.

Young, who was 12th in Phoenix two starts ago, looks primed for a big week and he’s Dave Tindall’s each-way bet for the Cognizant Classic at 40/1.

SOUTH AFRICAN OPEN

The DP World Tour pitches up in South Africa this week for the second oldest National Open in the world.

South African Open Preview

The South African Open dates back to 1893 and has a storied list of winners.

Durban Country Club is the venue this year and the one I like is Daniel van Tonder at 35/1.

The local South African won this event at the Gary Player Country Club in 2021 and he’s been in stunning form on the local Sunshine Tour this season. He heads their Order of Merit after two wins, a second, a sixth and a ninth in his last five starts.

All parts of his game look strong and although 10/1 favourite Dean Burmester could be hard to beat, Van Tonder is Dave Tindall’s bet. Back him each-way at 35/1.

Enjoy the golf, good luck with your bets and please gamble responsibly.
